PlanDag

The Foundation “Planologische Diskussiedagen” was established in September 1980, on the initiative of the Dutch BNSP (Association of Dutch Urbanists and Planners) and the Flemish VRP (Association for Spatial Planning). The aim of the foundation is to organise yearly meet-ups (PlanDag) among members of the Dutch and Flemish professional communities for them to exchange insights about the principles, content and functioning of spatial planning practice. After all, planning practice in the Netherlands and Flanders has numerous common challenges that are worth sharing.

The independent foundation is managed by a group of experts with a varied background from the Netherlands and Flanders. The board behind the PlanDag consists of:

  • Geiske Bouma, chair (TNO, Strategy and Policy, The Hague)
  • Rien van de Wall, secretary (Vereniging Deltametropool, Rotterdam)
  • Erik van den Eijnden, treasurer (Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, The Hague)
  • Martijn van den Bosch (Mitros, Utrecht)
  • René van der Lecq (Flanders Spatial Planning Department, Brussels)
  • Lieve Custers (Hasselt University & Buro Boris)
  • David Dooghe (TNO, Strategy and Policy, The Hague & University of Antwerp)
