Community day
Come to the Community Day at the Test Site Materialenwerf. Join a workshop, take part in a dance clinic, sign up for the open mic & jam session, or join a guided tour. Everyone is welcome, participation is free, and no prior registration is required.
The Test Site Materialenwerf will be open on this festive day for both young and old. It is a temporary site where, throughout the month of June, research is being conducted into how used construction materials can be given a second life. Curious about what a Materialenwerf actually is and why it could be important for Rotterdam? Join a guided tour and discover more. The day will also feature music, workshops, performances, and tours of the exhibition at the Keilepand. SWAMP will provide plant-based snacks and bites inspired by the season, possibly including foraged ingredients from the local area. Come by and join the fun!

Take a chance at the Weather Bar (all ages)
2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Get ready for “bar weather”! Due to climate change, weather is becoming increasingly extreme, and you may suddenly find yourself dealing with a severe storm or heatwave. That means we need to be prepared. Ready to try your luck at the Weather Bar by Rotterdams WeerWoord? Spin the wheel and see what kind of extreme weather it lands on. But make sure you are prepared: with a raincoat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and rain boots. Step inside and experience it for yourself.
Workshop: ‘Chair Circular Challenge’ (ages 5–15 + parents)
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Archiklas is organizing the Chair Circular Challenge! How do you design a chair using leftover materials? In this workshop, you will design a chair just like a real architect – but using reclaimed materials! This creative walk-in workshop focuses on circularity and design for children aged 5 to 15 and their parents. You will explore where materials come from, what happens to them after use, and how their lifespan can be extended.

Would you like to learn more about the Materialenwerf and how it can contribute to a sustainable and future-proof city? Then join this guided tour! The tours are intended for adults (though children are welcome too). The tour will be conducted in English.
Performance and dance workshop from 010HipHop
15:45 – 16:45 uur
Watch first, then join in the energetic hip-hop dance workshop by 010hiphop and learn cool moves to great beats! Suitable for all ages and levels.
Workshop Build with Bamboe (alle leeftijden)
14:30 – 15:30 uur
Get to work with bamboo together with Mart Bechtold! Bamboo grows super fast and is therefore suitable for building. It is very strong, light, and flexible, making it an ideal material for building various structures.
