Free Skatelessons by Skateland
Learn to skate at the Floating Skatepark in the festival heart of Rotterdam Architecture Month! Join Skateland‘s Skate Clinics for free and practice tricks under the guidance of professional instructors.
The festival heart of Rotterdam Architecture Month ’23 is located in the Maashaven and consists of three enormous barges. In the middle bin, designer and freerunner Onur Eren has designed an urban sports area, where you can try out urban sports such as skating, freerunning and calesthenics. At the end of the clinic, you will have learned a lot of new skills and tricks to skate independently on a mini-ramp!
The skate lessons are given by Skateland. Skateland Rotterdam has been located for over 20 years at Piekstraat 45, where in the past you could find Nestlé’s coffee factory. With 3000 m² of surface area and some 25,000 visits per year, Skateland Rotterdam is one of the largest skate parks in the Netherlands.
Practical info
- The skate classes are suitable from 6 years old, for all levels and participation is at your own risk.
- Preferably bring your own gear. Don’t have it? No problem. During the lesson you can use our skateboards and protection. Make sure you wear comfortable clothing that can take a beating.
- Get your free ticket for the classes through the ticket link below, capacity is limited. If you attend this program, there is no need to buy a separate ticket for the festival center. A ticket for this program already gives access to the floating festival heart.
- A ticket is valid for 1 child accompanied by up to 2 adults. Supervisors therefore do not need to purchase additional tickets.
- Report to the Rotterdam Architecture Month welcome desk on the square in front of the Maassilo. Have your ticket scanned here. You will receive a wristband that gives you access to the program in the floating festival heart.
- There will also be Skateland skate clinics on Wednesday June 21 and Wednesday June 28.
