Every year, the Rotterdam Architecture Prize highlights the best new buildings in the city. The best buildings are awarded the jury prize and the public prize, intended for the winning teams of client, designer and builder. The festive award ceremony will take place on Wednesday 7 June. On Friday, June 23, the winning team will give a lecture.

Jury prize

Every year, the organization puts together a new professional jury. Diversity in expertise, expertise and background is always the starting point. The professional jury will examine all entries for the Rotterdam Architecture Prize 2023 and make a selection of ten projects that show the quality of Rotterdam’s construction production in its full breadth. The jury visits the selected projects and thus comes to a choice of honorable mentions and a winner. During this process, the jury reflects on the developments that are going on in the architecture of Rotterdam. These observations and findings are given a place in the jury report.

Audience Award

Anyone who cares about the architecture of Rotterdam can vote for one of the ten projects from the jury selection in April. The building with the most votes receives the public prize of the Rotterdam Architecture Prize from the city council and the best voting motivation also receives recognition and the most appealing entrants are invited to attend the award ceremony.

Practical info

• If you visit this program, it is not necessary to buy a separate admission ticket for the festival heart. A ticket for this program already gives you access to the floating festival heart.
• Please report to the welcome desk of the Rotterdam Architecture Month at the square in front of the Maassilo. Here, scan your ticket and receive a wristband that will grant you access to the program in the floating festival heart. If you arrive 30 minutes before the start of the program, you can also take a route through the festival heart.
• IMPORTANT! Do not go directly to the floating platforms without a (program) wristband, as you will not be granted access.
